I started this community because I'm tired of debating "what poverty is like" with middleclass feminists. I am poor. I come from a working class background. I will undoubtedly remain poor. I am ok with this. I just really want to connect with other women who feel the same way.

If you are a feminist woman who identifies as working class, working poor, poor--please leave a comment!!!

I'm in. I can't say I'm a feminist, but I'm the head of my household and I support my family on a part time salary. We are very poor but happy.

Wow! A reply!

Happy to have you onboard. I was really starting to feel like The Last Poor Girl On Earth.

I'm sure we'll clash on something about feminism/not a feminist, but for now--hello!

So you're poor--poor, & ok with it, & online--Yes? I'm trying to wrap my head around it.

Anyway, sorry to be such an excited idiot.
Welcome!

I see this community as a resource for poor & working class women. I plan to post good articles about classism, write about the way classism impacts my life, & really try to elaborate on the idea that people who live in poverty have a culture & history & ethics & vibrancy worth talking about. So feel free to do the same!!!

ps what is your work? I'm a landscaper.

I'm working class. I live week-by-week. I can't wait to see what comes out of this community. Thank you for making it. :)
